The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a UN organization that includes the World Meterological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), published an extensive report entitled Climate Change 2001. The reports include compilation os sources from around the world and is therefore likely the most comprehensive writing on the issue. Updated findings from 2005 can be found here.
